What are you working on right now?
I finished the second book in the Secret Affinity series and I am plotting Book 3. Red Adept just contracted for Book Two so I am sort of taking it easy and toying around with another completely separate project. It’s contemporary and high concept and will either be YA or Women’s Fiction.
- How does this differ from other works in its genre?
Well, the Secret Affinity series is paranormal romance with ghosts. The romance, though, is pure contemporary. It seems most paranormal YA has the romance between non-humans but mine is very down to earth normal. Also, my ghosts are cool with elaborate stories of their own.
- How does your writing process work?
You could say I have a process. It starts with an idea and a character. Then I think up a scene and I start writing. I write like this as the story unfolds to me until about twenty thousand words and then I have to stop and plot.

Any departing words of wisdom for other authors?
1. Write something every day.
2. Figure out what your weaknesses are and try to improve them.
3. Find a good critique partner online or in real life who will give you honest feedback.
4. Learn about the publishing business so you can make good decisions about what direction to go whether it’s traditional publishing, an e-press, or self publishing.
