A rose by any other name…

I love naming people. Naming characters is one of the most fun parts of writing. Only when you have children or pets are you allowed to name another being, but in writing you get to do it all the time. Today, I am trying to name a man. I am taking a break from Jade right now because Book 2 Secret Affinity is with the content editor. As a result, I am writing an adult romance/women’s fiction/adult comtemporary ( I am not sure of the genre actually). I know I need a great name for this guy and since we’re stuck inside with a blizzard going on, why not today! He’s the love interest of one of the main characters. I found this great website that I am using to put together combinations that might work. Here are a few options. Let me know in comments here or on Facebook and Twitter what your vote is. Feel free to come up with your own too. (but no guarantee I’ll use them)

Here’s a little Ryan G. for inspiration and laughs 🙂

Melissa was born and mostly raised on Nantucket Island, and she currently lives there with her husband and two teenage children. When not being a wife and mother and teaching writing to seventh graders, she enjoys binge watching shows like Big Little Lies, House of Cards, and Outlander. Despite the rumors to the contrary, she does not actually wish she was a teenager again, nor does she see ghosts like the main character in her first novel, Ever Near. She does, however, love to hear from readers so send her a message on social media or at her email: Twitter: @MelissaMacVicar Facebook: Melissa MacVicar Instagram: melissa.macvicar
